Sustainable Greenpeace supporter clothing
For more than 50 years, the Greenpeace movement and people like you have been making a difference. It’s thanks to our supporters, allies, and friends that the Greenpeace movement has grown from just a handful of dedicated individuals to the largest environmental campaigning movement in the world.
Through our campaign work defending our oceans, protecting the right to peacefully protest, and advocating for climate justice and a fair transition to a sustainable future, Greenpeace USA understands that every act has the potential to be an action on behalf of our planet.
This pop-up collaboration is one way for us to invite you to join us in taking action, by raising awareness of our mission while also helping to fund our campaigns in a fashion that promotes fairness, equity, and sustainability.
The textiles on this site follow Greenpeace’s Global Textile Procurement Standard, which focuses on the elimination of toxic chemicals from their production. The objective of the standard is to ensure that clothing created for our supporters or for use in our campaigns have minimal environmental impact and are in line with our core values.
Earth Positive Collection
Apparel included
in Greenpeace USA’s pop-up collaboration are created using 100% certified
organic cotton from the EarthPositive® Collection by Continental Clothing,
hand-picked and grown without the use of harmful chemicals, ensuring healthy
soil and farmer well-being. Every step of the garment supply chain is traceable, from the farm to the product.
The knitting,
washing and dyeing all take place at in-house facilities under one roof, using
approved chemicals such as the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) or
OEKO-TEX®, according to Greenpeace’s Global Textile Procurement Standard which requires auditing by
OEKO-TEX® DETOX TO ZERO, currently the
most stringent standard for ensuring no use or release of hazardous chemicals,
and Standard 100 Annex 6 (I) which tests the finished garments. In addition,
there are ZERO-discharges from the factory, where all the water is recycled in
a closed-loop system, keeping local rivers free from harmful chemicals. This factory, and
the nearby factory where the fibers are spun, are powered by clean renewable
energy, using wind turbines and solar panels. Continental
Clothing and Brands Fashion are
certified under GOTS and the Organic
Content Standard (OCS). The items are printed in the USA in a Greenpeace approved textile printing company.
